Movie Comparison Post

Based upon the video watched in class, "Santa's Workshop", the work environments in The United States differ greatly to those that exist in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and China. In the United States, such a thing exists called; human resources. Human resources is a portion that exists in almost every business corporation in America. They protect the rights of the workers and their well being, if a worker feels abused, violated, or overworked, they can report this to human resources. In the Asian cooperation seen in the video, no such thing as Human Resources exists. The workers went through awful working conditions, receiving little pay. Due to the little pay, most of the workers are in poverty, and are forced to work hours of overtime, just to make it by. Most of the workers share a one room apartment with over fifteen people. Most of the workers to do not get enough sleep, due to the amount of overtime they are forced to partake, and end up getting very sick, causing them to become unhappy. The workers productivity decreases due to their little amounts of sleep, little wages, and sickness. The shoe brand Toms has operated and does it humanely. Toms does a lot of charity work, by donating one pair of shoes to kids internationally, for every pair purchased.
